At Shortimes ("we," "our," or "us"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit the Shortimes mobile application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

  • Account Information: When you register (via Google or Facebook Login), we collect your name, email address, and profile picture to create your account.
  • Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access the App, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information. This helps us prevent fraud and ban evasion.
  • Location Data: To provide our core proximity matching features, we collect your precise geographic location. We only collect location data while you are using the App (foreground usage). We do not track your location in the background when the App is closed.
  • User Content: Photos, messages, and other content you upload or transmit through the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service (e.g., showing you users nearby).
  • Communicate with you about your account and provide customer support.
  • Monitor and prevent fraud, harassment, and illegal activities.
  • Marketing & Communications: To send you updates, security alerts, and support messages. We may use aggregated, non-identifiable data for marketing analysis, but we will not use your personal profile or photos in advertising without your explicit consent.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. However, we may share your information with:

  • Service Providers: We use third-party cloud services (e.g., Google Cloud, Firebase) to host our App, store data, and perform analytics. These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide you with the Service and for legitimate and essential business purposes.

Retention Period: 90 Days Post-Deletion

If you request to delete your account, your data will be securely archived and restricted from further processing for a safety period of 90 days.

This retention period is retained solely for the safety of our users, to assist law enforcement if needed, and to prevent banned users from simply re-registering ("ban evasion"). After this 90-day safety period, your personally identifiable information will be permanently deleted from our servers.

5. Your Rights (Right to Erasure)

You have full control over your data.

  • Delete Account: You can request the permanent deletion of your account directly within the App settings at any time (Settings > Delete Account).
  • Access & Correction: You can access and update your profile information directly within the App.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Service is restricted to users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.
