Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Shortimes app ("App"), accessible from mobile devices, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Shih-Cheng Lin ("Developer", "we", "us"), operating under the brand Shortimes.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account on Shortimes and use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older and legally permitted to use the App in your jurisdiction.

3. User Conduct and Content (UGC Policy)

Shortimes allows users to post photos, messages, and other content ("User Content"). We are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful community.

• You must not post content that is illegal, pornographic, violent, hateful, threatening, or harassing.
• You must not bully, stalk, intimidate, or defame any person.
• You must not spam or solicit other users for commercial purposes.

Reporting and Blocking

To ensure user safety, we provide the following mechanisms:

• Blocking: You may block any user you do not wish to interact with. Blocked users will no longer be able to contact you.
• Reporting: You may report any profile or content that violates these Terms directly within the App. We verify and process reports promptly, typically within 24 hours, by removing the content and ejecting the offending user if a violation is found.

4. Rights You Grant Us (License)

By creating an account, you grant to Shortimes a worldwide, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free right and license to host, store, use, copy, display, reproduce, adapt, edit, publish, modify, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, developing, providing, and improving the Service.

Note: We respect your privacy. This license allows us to show your profile to other users within the App, but it does not grant us the right to sell your content or use your photos in external advertising campaigns without your explicit consent.

5. Safety & Offline Interactions (Disclaimer)

You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users. You understand that Shortimes does not conduct criminal background checks on its users or inquire into the background of its users. Shortimes makes no representations or warranties as to the conduct of users.

You agree to take reasonable precautions in all interactions with other users, particularly if you decide to meet offline or in person.

6. Subscriptions and Purchases

Shortimes may offer services for purchase ("Subscriptions") through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

• Payment will be charged to your iTunes or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal in your Account Settings after purchase.
• Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel via your App Store/Play Store settings.
• No Refunds: All purchases are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not strictly guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. You use the App at your own sole risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL SHORTIMES, ITS AFFILIATES, EMPLOYEES, LICENSORS, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES RESULTING FROM PHYSICAL HARM OR DISTRESS ARISING FROM YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS.

IN NO EVENT WILL SHORTIMES' TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO SHORTIMES FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE SIX (6) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100 USD).

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and defined following the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China), without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You formally agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Taiwan for the resolution of any disputes.
